Darkness - Light - Darkness

Premiered on February 1, 2022 at the Lyon Opera in France

Inspired by the cycles in nature, choreographer Lukas Timulak builds on his previous creations, and his collaboration with the designer Peter Bilak, which explore the organisational principles of nature. Everything is constantly changing in seemingly unpredictable way, yet, a closer observation reveals patterns that drive those changes, cycles that regulate them and create balance. The movement of matter through our ecosystem is a continuous cycle, which never leaves it, just changes form. The constant movement suggests change, yet it also brings stability of life. This creation completes the trilogy of dance creations that Timulak and his team has created (Hidden Order, 2018, Totality in Parts, 2018) scrutinising the patterns that surround the visible and invisible world.
